DANNY COON
Retired Sergeant – First Responder – Trained Chaplain & Mental Health Coach
After 31 years in law enforcement, I know what this job can put on a person. I’ve seen the calls, the aftermath, the stress, what we carry home, and what we don’t talk about. Bulletproof First Responder was created for the men and women who run toward danger for a living and sometimes struggle with what follows them home.
You don’t have to figure it out alone.
31 Years Behind the Badge
After 31 years in law enforcement, I know firsthand what this job demands. I’ve seen the calls, the aftermath, the stress, and the things we carry home long after the shift is over. I also know the hardest part isn’t always the call itself. It’s what happens afterward—when the adrenaline wears off, the uniform comes off, and you’re left alone with what you’ve seen, what you’ve done, and what you can’t forget. For a long time, first responders were expected to suck it up and keep going. I understand that mindset. I lived it. But strength isn’t pretending nothing affects you. Strength is having the courage to understand what you’re carrying and knowing what to do with it.
You can be tough enough to do the job and still need help dealing with what the job leaves behind.
Why I Created Bulletproof First Responder
I created Bulletproof First Responder because I believe first responders deserve a place to talk about what the job can do to the mind, body, family, and soul. Not from a textbook, but from experience. This isn’t about telling you that you’re broken. It’s about understanding what you’re carrying and giving you practical tools to deal with it before it starts dealing with you. We’ll talk about the hard stuff—stress, hypervigilance, sleep, PTSI, trauma, moral injury, relationships, substance use, suicide, faith, resilience, recovery, and finding your way forward. Some conversations will be uncomfortable. Some will challenge what you’ve been taught about strength. But every conversation shares the same goal: helping first responders come home from the job and still live the life they’re fighting to protect.
You don’t have to lose yourself to do this job.

Statement of Faith
We, at Bulletproof First Responder, believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God. We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration of the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
